March Meeting: Cancelled
Because we moved our January meeting to February, we're cancelling the March meeting (well, that and we'll be returning from the MVP Summit that day :). Look for an announcement for our next meeting for the first week in May.
ALM stands for Application Lifecycle Management. Here's the WikiPedia write-up on ALM but essentially, it's the process and tools your team uses to construct great software. Kind of like SDLC but a whole lot more.
A great explanation of ALM comes from Eric Sink who asks and answers "What is ALM? Traceability."
Meetings
COALMG meets on the odd 1st Thursdays of the month (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov) at 6pm - 8pm on the 4th floor of the Microsoft Offices off Polaris Parkway in Columbus, Ohio.
Address:
Polaris Center
8800 Lyra Dr., Suite 400
Columbus, OH 43240
Phone: (614) 719-5900
Fax: (614) 719-5319
To help proliferate knowledge, experiences, tools and processes toward building great software.
We're hosted at Microsoft but our meetings won't necessarily cover Microsoft products or experiences.
Projects today face numerous challenges, from application backlogs to poor quality and missing requirements. When roles of users and stakeholders on projects are not clearly defined or become blurred, the productivity of the team may plummet due to luck of the communication and project management breakdowns.
The goal of the COALMG is to address these challenges, and prevent them from becoming obstacles.
We are hoping that from the group's collaboration and learning experience we will become more effective at our jobs!
